Another shotgun wedding in JPOPdom and Utada news

More updates!

It only seems like yesterday when we found out about La Leah D.’s shotgun wedding. Now, another celeb couple has followed suit.

From japantoday.com:

TOKYO —
Musician Miyavi and singer melody., 27, announced this week that melody. is pregnant and that they had gotten married. They said they had held a small party this week for friends and those close to them.

Miyavi will make a formal announcement on April 5 when he performs at the Hibiya Open-Air Concert Hall. melody. (who writes her name with a lowercase m and a period) ended her singing career in January and is now working in fashion design.

Well, we surely did NOT see that coming. I thought Miyavi was a woman. And boy, were they good at hiding their relationship prior to this. I love melody. though (darn that strange name spelling celebs prefer!!) I first heard about her when she was featured in m-flo’s "Summertime love" with Ryohei, and did another song with them again entitled "Miss you." She was originally from Hawaii and was a vj of the now defunct english music show J-Melo. She’s a really good singer, wonder why she gave it up. As for Miyavi, he was known for dating an adult video star (who are real stars in Japan), particularly Maria Ozawa (I’m sure you boys out there know her). He’s the iconic visual kei/rock star in JPOP.

I could hardly care. I don’t even know why I’m even blogging about them in the first place.

Well, maybe just because Miyavi’s so hot! Let’s all dedicate 10 seconds of silence for this news. OKAY! Over it!

In other news, UTADA’s album is a force to be reckoned with!!

Also from the same souce:

Singer and songwriter Hikaru Utada, 26, broke a record for Japanese artists this week when her second album in English – “This is The One” – entered the charts on Apple’s iTunes Music Store at No. 19, the first time an album by a Japanese artist has entered the online store’s rankings in the top 100.

By the way, this is her US Album cover. Too bad it kinda sucks. Check out the font!

But, great job Utada! Better pick up your pace, BoA.

====I agree! While I kinda’ admire BoA, I still consider Utada is and always be a pioneer! While BoA is still struggling to penatrate the US Pop Scene, Utada has already did it and even collaborated with even famous and most notorious rappers like Missy Elliot. Utada has performed numerous times than BoA did… and BoA even lambasted by 2 of the Korean American celebs for her Engrish.
